Did you know February is National Canned Food Month? And, well, in most parts of the states, it is also cold. A quick trip to Market Street for 3 cans of vegetables, a pound of hamburger meat, and 2 packets of seasoning, you can have a delicious tasting Taco Soup.

After all, with cold temperatures outside you need to fill your insides with a nice, easy soup to make in a slow cooker. It warms you from the inside out!

Not to mention, our kids eat it! This is always a big deal.

Ingredients:

  • can of sweet kernel corn
  • can of Ranch Style beans
  • can of stewed tomatoes
  • 1 lb hamburger meat
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 packet ranch dressing seasoning
  • 1 ½ cup water
  • shredded cheese
  • corn tortilla strips
  • diced onions (optional)
  • avocado slices (optional)

Directions:

  1. Brown, drain, and rinse hamburger meat.
  2. Add meat, corn, beans, tomatoes, seasoning packets, and water into slow cooker. Stir and cover.
  3. Cook on low for 4 hours, stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve and top with your choice of toppings, such as shredded cheese, tortilla chips, corn tortilla strips, onions and avocado slices.
  5. Enjoy.
