Banana Nut Bread Recipe
A couple weeks ago, I was getting the kids packed and ready to go to Galveston. As I was gathering snacks for the ride, I noticed 4 beautiful bananas sitting on the counter.

I didn’t want to take bananas on a road trip and there would be no one home to eat them. But, I also knew Colby would be back a day earlier than us… and would commence to cleaning.
So, I left him a note by the bananas – realizing they would be very ripe when he finally got home – and asked him not to throw them away.
They would be perfect for Banana Nut Bread by the time we all got home. I was so right!
Banana Nut Bread Recipe
Nice and ripe the way they should be for banana nut bread, we took a trip to the store to pick up the 2 remaining ingredients we did not readily have in the pantry.
Otherwise, yes, this incredibly moist banana bread recipe was really going to be that easy since we had everything else.
Now, we’ve never made any type of bread recipe from scratch, but we were ready for the banana bread challenge.
And SO GLAD we took that challenge. The homemade banana bread recipe was easy to make… and turned out absolutely delicious!

Ingredients:
- 4 large, very ripe bananas, mashed
- ½ cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- pinch of salt
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 325° and grease (or spray) loaf pan.
- Blend butter and sugar until creamy.
- Add one egg at a time and beat until well blended.
- Sift the remaining dry ingredients over mixture and blend.
- Stir in bananas and chopped walnuts until completely combined.
- Pour mixture into prepared loaf pan and bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Bread is done when a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Paired with a glass of milk or sliced and eaten on its own… the sweet, moist banana bread is the perfect anytime treat.
