Disclosure: We received samples of Van’s Gluten Free Foods to facilitate the review. Regardless, all opinions are 100% our own.
I have to be honest, I never knew much about gluten free foods. I just did not have to. But, when our toddler was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Disease a few months ago, that all changed. I was told over and over again that changing her diet to gluten-free would help her control her thyroid problems. So, I began researching and gathering information. The tough part is replacing the foods she enjoys with gluten free choices.
Gluten Free Foods
Luckily, I got a sweet email from Van’s Foods. And, yes, I do mean sweet… as in incredibly nice. I have even met 2 ladies from the company at a blog conference before and they were so genuine. That in itself makes me love the company even more. You just cannot top good customer service and Van’s is excellent.
Beyond that, when I mentioned my daughter’s thyroid issues they were more than willing to help me out. So, in addition to the reason above… here are 4 more reasons I love Van’s Gluten Free Foods:
- Healthy Start – Our 3 year old loves her cereal. Finding great tasting, gluten-free cereal that she will enjoy has been a challenge. Van’s Cinnamon Heaven was just the cereal we needed. It is made with nutrient-rich whole grains, including gluten free oats, brown rice, millet, quinoa and amaranth… without dairy, egg, corn, high fructose corn syrup, artificial ingredients, hydrogenated oils or GMO oils. An excellent, healthy… and tasty… choice for her each morning.
- On-the-Go Snacking – Again, with her thyroid disease, medication, and oral sensory issues, we make sure to keep snacks on hand when we are out and about. The Say Cheese! Snack Packs are gluten-free crackers in perfectly-sized snack bags. She gets to enjoy her favorite cheese flavoring in a healthy option better for her body.
- Dipping Deliciously – Like any toddler, being able to dip her foods is both entertaining and necessary. The gluten free crackers that include flavors such as Fire-Roasted Veggie and MultiGrain, are perfect for dipping. Fortunately she enjoys her veggies and making them into dips is something we can easily do.
- Sweet Treat – Instead of cookies, Van’s Cranberry Almond whole grain snack bars are a chewy, tasty alternative. Plus, the bars have 10g of whole grains and is made with gluten free oats, flax, cranberries and almonds. She loves them and they are easy for her to carry while she is on the go.
I am looking forward to trying more of Van’s breakfast options. They include French Toast Sicks, Waffles, and Pancakes. I have no doubt that she will enjoy all of them.
