The three main phases of chemotherapy for pediatric leukemia includes induction, consolidation, and maintenance.
On Wednesday, December 16, we received devastating news. Our sweet 2 month old baby was diagnosed with Pre B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
The Oncologist came in to give some specific results, including the official diagnosis and Leukemia subtype: Pre B-Cell ALL.
Good news first! Mom was able to nurse and hold Avery for the first time last night and it was good for both of them.
The Oncologist said they expect to see some leukemia in Avery’s spinal cord. In infants, that’s a common place for the cells to migrate.
Avery is reacting to everything (yelling, etc) and isn’t lethargic. She’s been perfectly normal until mom noticed she wasn’t eating much today.
