The good thing about this week at home? We have a few fun things to celebrate!
Fortunately, we can still celebrate as a family…
And we can easily do it from home!
First up: Father’s Day!
We also had our first birthday of the year.
That’s right, our birthdays don’t start until June… and then we have at least one a month until December.
September has three and December (now) has two.
October will have three once our newest addition comes. Maybe one day we’ll get family members with birthdays in the first half of the year.
This year, though, the girls weren’t about to let their brother’s birthday go by unnoticed.
Colby and the girls also decided they really enjoy swimming at sunset. Since the dog days of summer can be ridiculously hot, it simply makes sense.
We also got the media room officially set up in the house! And, we’ve discovered it’s actually a family favorite!
Maybe we should have set it up this was a couple years ago?
Unfortunately, the reason we set it up was because we put our house on the market this week.
It was beyond bittersweet. In fact, it didn’t go well with the girls when the sign officially went up.
Yes, it’s pandemic-related. No, it’s not a fun decision, but a necessary one.
More information on our next move coming.
Ian, the Leopard Gecko, may have also joined us because of this.
Jaci has been thinking about it and saving for it for a while. With everything going on, we figured the family could use a bit of (new) goodness.
So, meet Ian.
All in all, it was a long week.
A roller coaster of emotions, for sure.
Jaci probably summed it up best when she literally laid down on the hard floor and went right to sleep.
We ended the week with one last (early) celebration. Our neighborhood held their 4th of July Fireworks Show early and we were able to stand on the sidewalk in front of our house to watch.
The celebrations felt different this season, but as long as we were all together, that’s all I really care about.
