After a morning at church and an afternoon nap, Sunday dinners are the perfect end to the day and start of the new week. Keeping the pace slow and the kitchen filled with a delicious aroma, each meal shared with the family is a blessing. Why not make the best out of each meal? Serve up a meal your family and friends will love. Speaking of, if you are headed out to a potluck this Sunday, these dishes should be on the menu.

Start the dinner with appetizers such as fried green tomatoes or fried pickles. Yes, we are all about frying down here! Pour a bit of Ranch Dressing beside either fried treat and commence to eating! Don’t fill up on appetizers are alone though. In the South, we serve our plates large and you may need to prepare for it. After all, the next dish on your menu is the main course: Chicken Fried Steak.

Set the sweet corn bread in the middle of the table and get the glasses ready to serve. A tall glass of sweet tea is exactly what you need to chase down Sunday dinner. Let the eating begin! Chicken Fried Steak with a side of fried okra, corn on the cob, and mashed potatoes should get everyone started. Don’t forget the white gravy! This is where the corn bread will come in handy once again.

Finally, when it’s time for dessert, go for a southern classic such as banana pudding topped with a fluffy meringue. Perhaps even a great tasting apple pie with a scoop of ice cream on the side. You might as well go out with bang, you reckon?
