Save Money for College

This is my first year with a child in college. Considering I have been out of school for almost 20 years it is a whole new ballgame out there. She and I are learning as we go. One lesson learned already is just how expensive college can be. Even though she is attending a local college, we are still out of the county and prices are a bit higher for that reason. Plus, oh my goodness… books are crazy prices. That actually has not changed much from when I was in school. But, just one of her books was over $200. This means we are having to find ways to save money for college and other necessities.

Making sure she has all she needs to get started in school and do well is important. Not only does she need basic school supplies, but she still needs to stay fed and clean! Sam’s Club makes it easy to buy items in bulk that can last her for an entire semester. They are name brand items sold at a discounted price making them a great value. Giving her one less item to stress over on her list gives me a bit more peace of mind. I would much rather she concentrate on her school work then worry about picking up shampoo on the way home!
