Printable Preschool Valentine’s Day Worksheets + Valentine Cards

How often do you find yourself looking for more activities for your kids?

I have two that have never been able to stay busy enough. Printable preschool worksheets were a life-saver with them!

And now, one of those two has a daughter who is the exact same way.

Our oldest granddaughter is just like her mama was at her age and loves to stay busy. All the time.

Whereas her sister is pretty low-key and can entertain herself with something as simple as a drumstick, big sister is wired differently.

She needs stimulation—and a lot of it.

Therefore, I have to plan ahead with her. Keep things for her to do and find new ways to keep her busy.

Fortunately, she also loves to learn and soak up new bits of information.

Holidays are a great time to teach her new things in a variety of ways. Printable preschool worksheets are a quick and easy way to entertain and teach together.

Because she can’t attend a physical preschool (the pandemic + baby sister having cancer do not allow this right now), we do our best to do preschool at home with her.

After homeschooling for over 19 years, this part is basically second nature for all of us.

Plus, it’s fun seeing everything fresh and new through their eyes.

Preschool Valentine’s Day Worksheets

Therefore, in addition to our annual Valentine’s Day party and card exchange, I decided to design some fun preschool Valentine printables for her.

As well as some printable Valentine’s Day cards for her to use in our card exchange. You can grab them for free here!

Printable Valentine's Day Cards for Kids

She loved them all! The cute Valentine cards for kids were one thing, but the Valentine worksheets were an absolute hit!

The Valentine’s Day cards had to be given away to the others for our card exchange, but the Valentine’s worksheets were all hers.

I mean, it’s hard not to simply because of the absolutely adorable Valentine Gnome theme I used (if I must say so myself).

The I Spy activity is her favorite—and mine too!

Now, she’s (newly) three, so she still needs a bit of help with some of the sight word worksheets, but she’s able to do them with little assistance.

Not to mention, she’s learning more and more with each new worksheet. Helping them learn in exciting new ways is the best!

And at her age, she soaks it up like a sponge! Toddlerhood is truly one of the best stages.

Now that I’ve seen how much she’s enjoying this preschool worksheet pack, it’s time to get started on next month’s: St. Patrick’s Day!

Since we both ended up loving the Valentine’s Day printables, I wanted to share the full activity pack with you.

What other learning skills are taught with preschool worksheets?

  • Matching is an essential skill, helps to improve a number of cognitive abilities like visual memory, short-term memory, and pattern recognition.
  • I SPY teaches visual discrimination: the ability to recognize visual details in a picture helps kids to later discriminate between the shapes of different letters, which is fundamental in helping them learn to read.
  • The simple act of coloring teaches skills such as concentration, fine motor and coordination for early writing skills and correct finger grip. Plus, it nurtures creativity, and color awareness, and trains the brain to focus.
  • Both word scrambles and searches reinforce sight words they are learning through reading, as well as problem-solving skills. Plus, as they search for words, they learn to look for consonant clusters and vowel combinations.
  • You may think “scissor skills” is self-explanatory enough, but as children learn to cut, the opening and closing motion helps them develop the small muscles in their hands (otherwise known as fine motor skills). In addition to, eye-hand coordination, and good sitting balance.
  • Connect the dot worksheets help children learn letters and numbers, develop problem-solving abilities, and engage them in learning as well as improving their creative thinking skills. These also encourage children to expand their imagination and creativity. Of course, number order, counting, and handwriting skills (tracing) are also involved.
  • Learning to draw aids children in cognitive development. Not only does drawing help develop eye-hand coordination, but it also teaches creative problem-solving, encourages visual analysis, and increases confidence. They can learn to freely express their thoughts, feelings, and ideas through drawing.
  • Mazes also help to improve eye-hand coordination, as well as problem-solving and fine motor skills. They also work as brain-boosting exercises as they have to think, reason, and remember to get through the puzzle.
  • Scavenger hunts help your preschooler develop better listening and understanding skills. They also boost observation skills, as well as executive functioning skills such as sequencing, organizing, and reinforcing problem-solving skills.
  • Bingo can implement and teach a variety of different skills including reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This preschool Bingo game, references matching skills mentioned above, as well as, when played with others, social skills and the concept of winning and losing.
