What is a press trip?

Also known as a fam trip (short for Familiarization Trip), a press trip is a sponsored trip on behalf of a tourism board, tour operator, airline or other brand representative.

These influencer trips are offered in exchange for contracted media coverage or brand exposure through deliverables produced on the blog and/or social media.

Press trips can cover events such as red carpet premieres, industry conferences, product launches, new car reveals and more. They don’t always stop at promoting a location alone.

The trips can be for a single influencer, group of bloggers, couples or family.

A fam trip can very often mean simply becoming more familiar with the people behind a brand so you can be better informed with sharing about their product or service.
