How many times have your kids come to you with BIG dreams? And, as parents, you want to do everything you can to help those dreams become real. Right?

Take a second job. Sell everything you own. Drive them to class 5 times a day. Whatever it takes. After all, they’re your babies and you want to help them live a full life. The House is something like that.

The House

Meet Scott and Kate Johansen (Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler). Their daughter Alex (Ryan Simpkins) was just accepted to college. But, Scott and Kate lose their daughter’s college fund.

Now, they are desperate to earn it back so she can pursue her dream of attending a university. Therefore, with the help of their neighbor Frank (Jason Mantzoukas), they decide to start an illegal casino in his house.

What could possibly go wrong?

With the idea that they can earn 4 years worth of college tuition running this (illegal) casino, these determined parents set their plan into action.

Jaden Faith-singer, songwriter

What would you do? Colby and I certainly had some desperate times during our time as parents.

Nowadays, our biggest “wish fund” is spent fostering Jaden’s love for music. That often means class a few times a week, performances over an hour from home… in the evening, and constant singing heard through the house.

In no way is it crazy, but it’s enough. And, when she realized we were saving for a house, Jaden actually went to her vocal coach on her own and asked for jobs to barter for her lessons.

Somewhere it seems that watching us over the years taught her to go after what she wants anyway she can!
