Clear the Shelters

The very first family pet we had came from a shelter. When we were still a family of four, we decided we wanted a dog for the kids to play with and love. After a trip to our local shelter, we came home with a Black Lab the kids named Miles. He was full of energy and great with the kids. They loved running around the backyard with him and he even enjoyed a swim in the pool. Miles brought the kids years of enjoyment. Today, our oldest daughter has two Chihuahuas, both from local shelters. Now, you and your family have the opportunity to participate in Clear the Shelters with no-cost or reduced fee adoptions.

Daisy dog believes every life is valuable and has used their technology and resources to help save the lives of homeless and abandoned pets. As a matter of fact, over 40,000 pets have found homes through their technology. Overstock Pet Adoptions has helped pet lovers search for and adopt animals from thousands of shelters across the country. More than 300 shelters are signed up to participate in the event happening this Saturday, August 15th.

The Clear the Shelters initiative, sponsored nationally by, will feature special shows and programming that will air on local stations before and after the pet adoption drive. Each participating local station will offer news and information across various platforms to help raise awareness about the actual pet adoption day as well as related issues, like the overpopulation of shelters and the dangers of euthanasia. Clear the Shelters

Clear the Shelters was initiated last year in the Dallas-Fort Worth market as a partnership between NBCUniversal-owned stations NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth/KXAS and Telemundo 39 Dallas-Fort Worth/KXTX and dozens of North Texas animal shelters and resulted in the adoption of more than 2,200 homeless animals. This was the most homeless animals adopted in one day in North Texas. Let’s do it again this Saturday!
