Are you a fan of Philadelphia Cream Cheese? My girls love it. Our toddler eats it by the handful. She seriously will just grab a chunk of it and eat it. She does not need anything else. My other kids enjoy it with Doritos. I know it may sound strange. They totally got it from me. You should try it!

Nutella Cream Cheese Cakebites

I have never tried to make a cheese cake even though I love to eat them. So, when given the challenge to come up with a recipe using Philadelphia Cream Cheese, I decided I wanted to give one a try. I took a glance in our pantry and there it was. Nutella. That was the perfect flavoring for our cheese cake.

Colby and I loaded up the girls one evening and made a trip to the store. It was a bit busy so we grabbed only the few things we needed and headed back home. We had to help Colby get packed for a trip the next day, so our baking had to wait. After getting things settled at home with Colby off on a trip, the girls and I decided it was the perfect time to get baking. They helped me collect everything we needed and we got busy.

Monkey was actually napping when we started, but soon woke up to the sound of the mixer. She pushed a chair up to the counter to help… and to dig into my soft cream cheese. I turned around to preheat the oven, heard the girls giggle, looked back and found little Miss with Philadelphia Cream Cheese on both her face and hand. Hmmmm… I wonder what she was up to. Once I blended the cream cheese she began to dig in the Nutella. At least I did not need all of it for the recipe. Silly girl!

Luckily, she did leave me plenty of cream cheese to work with. She also found licking the bowl a bit tasty and that kept her entertained for a bit. Although I cannot say as though I could blame her.

Funny thing is, my girls said they did not like cheese cake. I asked if they had ever tried it. “No.” Well, of course. I told them they just saw everything we put in it. Philadelphia Cream Cheese which they LOVE. Sugar. Hello?! An egg. And Nutella! Another of their favorite foods. What was not to love? I mean, I grabbed one for a late night snack as I worked and it was hard not to devour another! The creamy richness of the cheesecake bite was fabulous. No doubt the result of the incredibly delicious taste of Philadelphia Cream Cheese.

  • 2 tbsp. Nutella

Directions:

— Oreo Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Spray muffin tin with cooking spray or line with cupcake liners.
  2. Melt butter and pour over crushed Oreos. Mix until well blended.
  3. Spoon mixture into individual liners and push gently into bottom of pan.
  4. Bake 12-14 minutes, or until firm. Take caution to not overcook. Remove from oven and let cool.

— Cheese Cake:

  1. Preheat oven to 300°.
  2. Soften cream cheese in bowl using the electric mixer or whisk.
  3. Add sugar and then egg until completely blended.
  4. Pour half of the filling into another bowl and set aside.

  6. Drop the original cream cheese mixture onto bake crust once cooled, and swirl. Do the same with the Nutella filling over the original mixture.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese cake has set. Let cool.

— Nutella Frosting:

  1. Mix cream cheese with butter until smooth using electric mixer or whisk.

Once your cream cheese cakebites have cooled, remove from liners and top with frosting. I also decided to sprinkle Oreo crumbs on top and to garnish with a piece of the cookie. Oh my… it was delicious!
