How often do you stay in a hotel and wish you knew more about the area where you are staying? Hyatt House, an upscale extended stay hotel brand, is offering neighborhood guides to their hotels to highlight local experiences.
Hyatt House guests often stay up to 5 days or more. In fact, they are more than guests, they are residents. Therefore, in order to introduce their residents to the neighborhood the minute they arrive, Hyatt House is launching new neighborhood guides. Working with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. as part of their “Martha Stewart American Made” program, each guide which feature local merchants.
Think about it. What are you most often looking for when you staying somewhere new? Typically food comes to mind first. A quick look in the guide can direct you towards homemade ice cream, delicious pastries, or flavorful farm-to-table meals. Plus, the small businesses highlighted in the guides will be found just minutes away from the extended stay hotel. You could be eating in to time.
After a good meal there will be time to browse the area and do a little shopping. Whether looking for a vintage clothing shop, a neighborhood bookstore, or a collector’s showroom, the neighborhood guide can direct you where you need to go. Not to mention, not only are you supporting your local economy, but you can know the items are American made.
Finally, being able to take in a bit of local culture is a great way to immerse yourself in your surroundings. Museums, historical locations, and sporting events are just a few ways you can enjoy the neighborhood.
There are 58 Hyatt House locations and all now offer the local guides based on a collaborative effort with MSLO editors and Hyatt House colleagues. Oh! And don’t stress over getting to the merchants! Most hotel locations offer complimentary shuttles so residents can explore the neighborhood with ease. Grab your guide, pick a place, and head to the shuttle.
National Good Neighbor Day
Inspiring more neighborhood camaraderie, Hyatt House is also celebrating National Good Neighbor Day.
Starting on September 28, by introducing in-hotel events at select locations that offer a complimentary taste of the neighborhood. Each event will shine a spotlight on one of the makers featured in the Neighborhood Guide at the hotel’s H BAR, a place for residents to gather and enjoy the comforts of home.
