More Minion Madness in Despicable Me 2

Did you see Despicable Me? Were the minions your favorite characters? They were totally mine. Well, maybe except for Agnes. She is a cutie.

Despicable Me 2

Despicable Me 2

Coming to theaters July 3rd, Despicable Me 2 is hilariously funny and coming back with an all-star voice cast that includes: Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Benjamin Bratt, Miranda Cosgrove, Russell Brand, Steve Coogan, Ken Jeong, Elsie Fisher, Dana Gaier, and Moises Arias. Together, these stars pull off incredible voice talents and hosts of laughs throughout the film.

Now that Gru (Steve Carell) has left behind a life of super crime to raise Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier) and Agnes (Elsie Fisher), Gru, Dr. Nefario (Russell Brand) and the Minions have some free time on their hands. But as he starts to adjust to his role as a suburban family man, an ultrasecret organization dedicated to fighting evil around the globe comes knocking. Now, it’s up to Gru and his new partner, Lucy Wilde (Kristen Wiig), to discover who is responsible for a spectacular crime and bring him to justice. After all, it takes the world’s greatest ex-villain to catch the one vying to take his place…

This is now about life after Gru’s villain days… and right in the middle of his parenting days.

DM2 minion madness

Minion Madness

For us, the minion’s made each moment comical. Their unique language is laughable in its own way, and the characters themselves are amusing. From their characteristic yellow capsule shape, to Kevin’s glasses, and Dave’s one-eye and spiked hair… they are simple enjoyable little creatures. Whether the minion madness is in Gru’s home or out fighting crime in public, their fun sense of humor and crazy antics kept us all laughing.

Plus, we got to take a different perspective into the life of Gru: fatherhood. Being a single dad of 3 girls has to be difficult, but Gru handles it with ease. Or so he thought. As Margo starts to grow up and gains an interest in boys, the role as a daddy changes. He is no longer the only guy in her life and is not taking it so well. In fact, I have seen those looks before… in my husband’s eyes when our oldest began to step into dating.

DM2 Gru and girls

I really enjoyed the new look into Gru’s life and it was nice to see his relationship with his girls growing and developing. And with all of their minion “cousins” in the picture, they made for one-big happy family… eventually.

Despicable Me 2 comes to theaters everywhere on July 3rd. I know that we, as a family, cannot wait to see it again. We even took Monkey along to see how she would do and she sat and watched it all. That, for us, was a pretty good judge of how great the movie was. It kept our 3 year old’s attention the entire duration. Well done, little minions!
