Adding more milk to our family’s diet is not too challenging. After all, several of the recipes on our weekly menu include milk. One of the easiest and tastiest breakfast recipes we enjoy is Colby’s Overnight Oats. He discovered them a few months ago and they have become a family favorite. You basically combine oats, milk, sweetener and cinnamon. Store in the fridge overnight and it’s ready to serve in the morning. A little preparation in the evening goes a long way in the morning for a satisfying breakfast.

In addition to breakfast, we also enjoy a milk-based treat every once in a while as well. One recipe I have shared with the kids is Mexican Hot Chocolate. Using milk and an organic cacao powder, the sweet drink can still be good for you. See how we prepare it to enjoy as a family:
- 2 cups milk
- 3 tbsp cacao powder
- 2 tsp sugar, honey, sweetener of choice
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- pinch of cayenne
- pinch of nutmeg
- dash of sea salt
- Add all ingredients to a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat until simmering, stirring frequently.
- Remove from heat and serve. Add optional toppings as desired.
There you go! A tasty way to warm your stomach with a rich, creamy cup of chocolate.
