The PLAY-DOH brand has been synonymous with both learning and creativity since 1956. Every time I smell it I am taken back to my own childhood. It is no surprise that my kids love it just as much as I did.

PLAY-DOH Board Books

PLAY-DOH Board Books

With my toddler’s sensory needs, PLAY-DOH has become one of our biggest aids. Being able to squeeze the PLAY-DOH and create with it fulfills her sensory needs and keeps her calm. Therefore, when I was offered the opportunity to review 5 new PLAY-DOH board books there was no turning it down. She loves books and puzzles as much as the colorful modeling compound so I was sure the books would be a hit.

PLAY-DOH has recently introduced 5 new board books:

  • [amazon_link id=”1607107716″ target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow” container=”” container_class=”” ]Mama’s Little Ducklings[/amazon_link]. One of Mama Duck’s eggs is on a roll! Where could it be?
  • [amazon_link id=”1607107724″ target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow” container=”” container_class=”” ]My First Words[/amazon_link]. This book introduces young readers to a wonderful world of words with over 50 labeled illustrations!
  • [amazon_link id=”1607107694″ target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow” container=”” container_class=”” ]Counting Bunnies[/amazon_link]. Ten silly bunnies teach kids to count from one to ten!
  • [amazon_link id=”1607108119″ target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”container=”” container_class=”” ]Making Shapes with Monkey[/amazon_link]. Monkey uses shapes to make all kinds of useful items for his friends.
  • [amazon_link id=”1607107708″ target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow” container=”” container_class=”” ]Rainbow Butterflies[/amazon_link]. Butterflies in all the colors of the rainbow subtly hide for young readers to discover.

Each book is filled with colorful pictures and bright PLAY-DOH sculptures. Each book represents a creative way to learn through colors, shapes, numbers, and more. Mama’s Little Ducklings is even a Lift-the-Tab book for eye-hand coordination and discovery.

Learning Words

Learning Words

With Monkey’s speech disorder, simple word books are one of the best tools to assist her in learning words. She can easily point to and identify the pictures, thus enhancing her vocabulary. Plus, since she also has an affinity for animals, the PLAY-DOH books have quickly become her favorites. Each book displays a variety of animals and that keeps her intrigued. Not to mention, we can practice her counting, trace shapes, and work on learning colors.

Play-Doh Books

It is encouraging to see her interact and engage with pages of the books… and even more so when she speaks the words. The creative PLAY-DOH designs and colorful page elements keep her attention and she comes back to the books for more. And since the board books are made for durability they should last her a while. I am looking forward to watching her as she keeps learning and enhances her vocabulary one new word at a time.
