early-morning-me-time

I was born at 9:26pm. My parents often tell me the story of how, while in the hospital nursery, I was wide awake through the night while the other babies around me slept or cried.

Therefore, I can honestly say that I have been a night owl for my entire life. My best thoughts come alive during the witching hour and I find solace in those dark hours of night.

So, you can imagine how challenging it has been for me recently to start my day at 6am.

Early Morning “Me Time

It all began when I pleaded with Colby once more to begin his wellness journey. For him, it meant waking up at 6am to go to the gym every day.

Me? I would stay comfy and warm in our bed each morning after he left. But then the guilt began to come in. Essentially, I was already waking up when he left the bed but would choose to continue to lay there until he came home.

I’m not a morning person, so getting out of bed that early was daunting to imagine. Colby realized I wasn’t going back to sleep after he left, so he invited me to start joining him.

Eventually, I agreed to go.

That was just over a month ago. Now, even on the days we try to sleep in, I find myself up early. I am learning to love that early morning “me time.”

At the gym, my mind is refreshed through an uplifting playlist or Bible study on a mobile app. At home, more music feeds my soul as I enjoy a cup of Bulletproof Coffee.

In fact, in addition to waking early and working out, adding Bulletproof Coffee to my daily routine has been a great way to get up and get going each morning.

Not only does it give me the energy I need to start my day, but it helps burn fat!

Bonus? Bulletproof Coffee is Upgraded Coffee blended with grass-fed unsalted butter and Brain Octane Oil. It is low-toxin, high-performance, and full of healthy fats to fuel you.

Brain Octane Oil (a key ingredient of Bulletproof coffee) supports cognitive performance.

Unfortunately, my brain and body are no longer spring chickens, ya know!

It’s fair to admit that I never realized how “good coffee” can promote brain function, memory, and energy levels.

Additionally, it can be a source of antioxidants and can even help you build muscle without exercising. Yes, please!

Personally, coffee has always been a treat of sorts. A delicious-tasting jolt of caffeine when I felt I needed it. I never once thought about the way it could affect my health.

I simply enjoy the taste. See? These are the types of things you can learn when you wake up and open your eyes to more that each day has to offer!

Flip the mattress

There are still mornings when I find it difficult to pull myself out of bed before the sun rises. I am still not one to spark any real conversation for at least an hour after rising, but I do get up.

I find a way to feed my mind, body, and soul in some encouraging way. Best of all, I have seen and felt the impacts of my morning “me time” pour into other areas of my day.

I’ve been able to work through a situation that has crippled me since January 1st. My marriage, although already amazing, has grown even stronger through those mornings together.

I nap less and eat healthier. All it took was one “simple” change to create a ripple effect in my everyday life.
