How to Get Started Writing a Blog
The first question I am asked when I tell people what I do is, “How do you make money doing that?”
I can’t tell you how many times I have been asked to help people get started. The conversation typically begins with, “Do you think I can pick your brain over coffee soon?”
And from there, the idea for my newest venture was born:
Let’s Chat Over Coffee
I decided that since (1) I’m totally an introvert and don’t really enjoy small talk over coffee and (2) I have so many people asking, it would be much easier to put together a few courses instead.
That way, I don’t have to leave my house for coffee… and neither do you!
In fact, no matter where you are, I can help you
Get Started Writing a Blog!
“How,” you ask. Simple. Through online courses. After 10 years of doing this, I hope I’ve learned a thing or two that I can pass along to others.
I was able to get Colby’s blog off and running fairly quickly to the point where he has now been home with me for 5 years doing the exact same thing.
So, take it however you like, but, in my eyes, it’s working.
Therefore, this first full course is entitled, “So You Want to Blog.” Again, after having so many people ask, it seemed the most appropriate title.
I used to send people a short, 1-sheet document on the very basics of getting started. I found that most would never really get past the 2nd or 3rd step of setting everything up.
Once they realized there was actual work involved they were out! Personally, once I discovered the work that was involved, it simply caused me to want to hustle even harder.
Let’s talk about two main objectives for serious bloggers:
- Bloggers who can market themselves well can become very good at what they do. Professional bloggers are those who have taken their skills to another level. Blogging on a full-time basis is not for everyone but it can make you good money if you are the right person.
- Writing content can be done at home in front of your home computer. This is an appealing proposition for stay-at-home moms and people looking to make some extra money. You can operate a full-time or part-time writing business.
Basically, if you’re in it for the long haul, are willing to put in the effort, and have a passion for what you’re going to be doing, go for it!
It’s all about the hustle and I have all the confidence in the world that you can do it! And don’t worry, I will help you along the way the best I can.
