Every year we pile the kids into the truck and head out to see some fireworks. There are a few shows we can catch just by planting ourselves at the lake and watching from afar. There are a few we have been going to for several years and others we have never seen. Where ever we end up the kids always enjoy themselves and the fireworks display is absolutely amazing.
Free Firework Shows in North Dallas
So, after a day of celebrating the independence given to us here in America… and eating hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill… we enjoy wrapping up the day with a large fireworks display. There are many free fireworks shows in North Dallas to watch. And although most are on the 4th, a few cities hold their event on the 3rd so you have to be sure to check the dates. Therefore, here is a list of some of our favorites, as well as few other free events I was able to find:
July 3rd
- Kaboom Town! at Addison Addison Circle Park. Free. Live music and vintage plane fly-bys. The air show always draws in an early crowd and is very entertaining to watch. The fireworks are choreographed to music that is then simulcast through the radio.
- Farmers Branch Independence Day Celebration at FB Historical Park. Free. 7:30pm until 10pm.
July 4th
- Family Fourth Celebration at Breckenridge Park in Richardson. Free. Stage entertainment along with bounce houses, balloon artists, and a climbing wall for the kids.
- Fireworks Extravaganza Over Lake Grapevine. Free {depending on where you choose to watch from}.
- Flower Mound Independence Fest at Bakersfield Park. Free. Headlined by the band Smash Mouth, and includes a vintage car show and free Kid’s Zone. Bounce houses, face painting, and more will be available.
- Frisco Freedom Fest at at Purefoy Municipal Center. Free. Large fireworks show choreographed to music and simulcast through the radio.
- Lake Cities 4th of July at Lake Dallas City Park. Free. Family fun, food, and music from 1100 Springs. Large fireworks display to end the evening.
- Little Elm July Jubilee Celebration at Little Elm Park. Free. Musical entertainment at the Amphitheater, food, and local vendors. Fireworks begin at dark.
- Melissa Celebration of Freedom at Zadow Park. Free. All day family entertainment followed by a fireworks show at dark.
- Red White & Lewisville at Vista Ridge Mall. Free. Annual firework show that can be seen from several locations around Lewisville.
- The Colony Liberty by the Lake Concert at Stewart Creek Park. Free. Entire day of family fun with several activities for all ages. Evening ends with firework show over Lake Lewisville.
What are your 4th of July plans? Do they include the traditional fireworks show? Where ever you are celebrating I hope you have a great time and stay safe!
