Everyone knows that it can be difficult to #LeggoMyEggo. I mean, we’re taught to share, but when it comes to a delicious Eggo® Waffle, well, it’s just not an easy task. With their crispy outside and warm, fluffy inside, it’s not hard to tell others to “L’Eggo my Eggo®.”

Fortunately for all of us, Eggo has created a fun, interactive way for sharing our waffles with our friends: Eggojis! Eggojis are a new, unique way for us to add a bit of “Eggo-nality” to our communication with family and friends. On a recent trip to the Eggo factory in San Jose, we were able to get an inside look at the artistry that goes on behind the kitchen. In fact, not only did we get a small tour of the aromatic factory, but we were also asked to have some fun with our food. Eggo Waffles to be exact!
Given the creative freedom to design our own Eggojis, we really put our inventive minds to the test! Equipped with a variety of Eggo waffle flavors and shapes, as well as toppings that included fruits, candies, syrups and more, we were left to create. Whether we wanted to take on a simple winky face or go with something more elaborate, our only instruction was to have fun! And we did! Lots of it.
Starting out, I wasn’t quite sure what direction to go. I began with a suggested emoticon based on pictures on the table, but once I got the hang of it I really had some fun! Colby and I began brainstorming ideas and looking at our own text messages for inspiration. Once I thought about my favorite emojis and took a look at the ingredients we had on hand, I had an epiphany! The Speak-No-Evil monkey is one of my most used expressions during text conversations. Monkeys are my favorite animal and, well, my dad speaks most through this one emoji. Therefore, it sparked my final creation.
I don’t always get excited about my food but this Speak-No-Evil Monkey was definitely worthy of excitement! It turned out better than I expected and, I must admit, I was pretty proud of him! Using an Eggo Thick & Fluffy waffle, three Minis, an apple, two candies, and Nutella, my fun-loving monkey Eggoji was born! Isn’t he cute?
