Monkey Kingdom Maya and baby

Disney disclosure

Time to grab the sunblock and a few pairs of shorts as I prepare to head to Orlando… to Walt Disney World… to celebrate the opening of Disneynature’s Monkey Kingdom! This is going to be one action-packed adventure trip as we learn more about monkeys and the world they live in.

Disneynature’s Monkey Kingdom

I was actually able to see Monkey Kingdom while in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago and loved it! Yes, I have always been a fan of monkeys, so I had been looking forward to seeing it. Maya is such a strong mama and leader for the monkey community high atop Castle Rock. Take a look at the trailer and synopsis below to get a better understanding of the film:

And the summary:

Life is an adventure for Maya, the clever and resourceful blonde-bobbed monkey in “Monkey Kingdom,” Disneynature’s new feature film set among ancient ruins in the storied jungles of South Asia. Maya’s world is forever changed when she welcomes her son, Kip, into her complicated extended family. Like all families, Maya’s has more than its share of colorful personalities—and she’s determined to give her son a leg up in the world. When their longtime home at Castle Rock is taken over by powerful neighboring monkeys, Maya’s whole family retreats, and she uses her street smarts and ingenuity to uncover untapped resources amidst strange new creatures and unsettling surroundings. Ultimately, they will all have to work together to reclaim Castle Rock, where Maya can hopefully realize her dreams for her son’s future.

Disneynature’s Monkey Kingdom swings into theaters on April 17th. For every ticket sold during opening week (April 17-25), Disneynature will make a donation to Conservation International to help protect monkeys and other endangered species in their natural habitats.

Okay, so how does this all come together in Orlando? Well, Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park, of course!

Here is an itinerary of events we will be doing during our visit:

This is all in addition to a bit of time at EPCOT as well, where we will go to the Fish Feed at EPCOT’s “Living Seas“, have front row viewing for Dolphin Research overview, lunch at Sunshine Seasons, and free time to ride both Soarin’ and The Land. Not to mention, a guided tour through select gardens/exhibits at EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival that features a Monkey Kingdom Sand Sculpture. Whew!

Fortunately, we have a pretty amazing place to call home at the end of every fun-filled day with All Star Vacation Homes. Our house features 3,354 sq ft of pure luxury, including a private pool and spa under a screened-in patio. Just what we need to relax and cool off after a long day at the park, right?! Plus, I will have a master bedroom with a king size bed all to myself. I can’t wait to spend a few nights here. Watch for a subsequent post about other features of the house!
