As much as I enjoy traveling, there is nothing like coming back to the comforts of home. That short time away sure makes you appreciate the things you have a bit more. I can hardly imagine what that feels like for our military, especially during the upcoming holiday season.
I love that Marie Callender’s Comforts from Home Project brings the comforts of home to those who protect America’s homes every day: the brave men and women of the U.S. military.
Comforts of Home
What are those things you miss the most when you’re away? For me, there are, of course, the irreplaceable items first which are my family.
Colby and the kids are my biggest comforts in all I do. But what about those things that just make your home… HOME.
We have a bit of a tradition here, whenever we return from a trip, especially a long one, we head to our favorite Mexican restaurant with our entire family and enjoy a meal while we tell them about our trip.
Tired from traveling, it gives us the opportunity to eat a great meal without doing the cooking.
Once we get home though, it’s back to reality. Any one who has been away from home for a while knows that re-entry can be challenging.
Luckily, with Marie Callender’s meals, the transition can go smoother. Marie Callender’s Family Size Meals are delicious and perfect for feeding all of us without a lot of clean up.
Again, most of us need a “vacation from the vacation” so simple is often best.
But, simple doesn’t have to mean lower quality. We can have all the comforts… and tastes… of home with Marie’s frozen meals.
Plus, Marie Callender’s is teaming up with USO to support USO Operation Celebration™.
This means that each time you enter a code from specially-marked packages of Marie Callender’s meals or desserts, Marie’s will make a donation to the USO in support of the program.
USO Operation Celebration™ works to share a bit of home with our troops across the world and helps them celebrate the holidays year round.
Not only will you bring the comforts of home to your family… but you will provide a bit of that comfort to troops where they need it most.
What are your favorite comforts of home?
Submit your photos in support of the USO to the Marie Callendar’s Comforts from Home photo challenge on Facebook and tell everyone what home means to you.
Scripps Network will then donate $1 to the USO for each photo received (up to $10K).
Be sure to use the #ComfortsfromHome hashtag and tag Marie Callendar on Facebook to submit your pictures!
