30 days of praise

Day 6: Having 5 kids also means dealing with 5 sets of friends… sorta. Although my teens share similar friends and our 6 and 7 year old do as well, there is still “friend drama” to tend to. But, I am grateful for those true friendships that my children have and cherish.

Dealing with drama with my “unsocialized” {insert sarcasm here} homeschoolers can be quite daunting. We have dealt with cyberbullying on more than one occasion and it gets exhausting. Kids are mean and callous and it hurts my heart to see them attack one another over petty issues. Therefore, I am grateful for those friends that stick around, hang out, and really care about my kids. It means a lot to SuperDad and I to see our children happy. I mean, is that not important to any parent. 🙂

I pray that they are all able to understand the need for friendship and continue to build relationships that teach them important life lessons. I know that even though my BFF and I live over 3 hours away and primarily only talk though FB for now, she will still always remain my best friend. She has been there for me since I was in the 3rd grade and I could not imagine it any other way. In fact, it was her moving to a new house that brought me to meet my husband over 20 years ago! If it was not for her agreeing to help me “spy” on him my life would have gone a totally different direction.

I pray my children have this type of life-long friendships with at least one person from their childhood. Thank you, Jesus, for friends that truly care.
