30 days of praise

Day 19: Since it is my husband’s birthday, I thought today would be the perfect day to begin my “grateful” posts for each of my family members. Therefore, today I am BEYOND thankful for my amazing husband of over 17 years.

After meeting in high school {the end of his freshman year and my junior year}, we talked off and on for only a week before we began dating. And, yes, he is a year younger than me, but with his late birthday and my summer birthday, I was 2 years ahead of him in school. We met because he lived 2 doors down from my best friend. She and I would spy on him from atop her house until 1 day I got the courage up to talk to him. On the last day of school I threw a note into his locker, we got together that weekend to just talk and talk in his front yard… and the rest {as they say} is history! Almost 20 ½ years since that day, 17+ years of marriage, and 5 kids later, I could not have asked for more.

I am grateful for his understanding when I need it. Patience when I do not always deserve it. And, most of all, his love without conditions. This man means everything in this world to me. We have had our ups and our {way, way} downs, but there are no regrets. Our paths have led us to where we are today and we are grateful for that fact. Today we are happier than ever and I honestly fall more in love with him everyday.

He is an amazing husband and incredible father. The kids adore their daddy… as do I. He is my heaven on earth. Thank you, God, for giving him to me.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. ~ 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
