2015 Ford F-150

The Ford Motor Company has sold over 33 million trucks since 1948. In fact, on average, every 41 seconds a new F-Series truck was sold in 2013. Not bad for the best-selling truck in America for the 37th consecutive year.

The 2015 Ford F-150 is bringing a complete redesign to the table. The new truck’s high-strength, military-grade, aluminum body will keep the F-150 up to 700 pounds lighter than previous years.  It will be lighter, stronger, and even more resistant to dents and dings. The lighter weight will give the truck the power to tow and haul more, accelerate and stop faster, and operate more efficiently. But… it will not compromise the safety features of the pickup.

In fact, the 2015 Ford F-150 will add the following safety features:

  • Inflatable Rear Safety Belts
  • MyKey programmable safety features
  • 360-degree Camera View
  • Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert
  • Lane-Keeping Assist
  • Collision Mitigation

In addition to the technology above that is meant to keep us safer on the road, the newest F-Series pickup will be the smartest F-150 ever. From Active Park Assist to Smarter Trailer Tow Module, this truck will be the most advanced on the road. Working harder for the truck owner while on-the-go, for the first time, F-150 owners will find a remote opening tailgate, LED headlights, LED cargo box lights, and more.

smarter technology

Even at 700 pounds lighter, the interior features more rear-seat legroom, underseat storage, and the center console has been resized to hold a laptop. Plus, the front doors now have larger windows and the rear doors open to nearly a 180-degree angle. Based on trim level, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, wood trim or leather-wrapped multi-contour front seats and other options are part of the truck’s incredible design. Continuing the Ford tradition, there will be 5 trim levels available: XL, XLT, Lariat, Platinum and King Ranch.

Finally, taking a look under the hood, the 2015 Ford F-150 will introduce a new 2.7-liter twin-turbo V-6 EcoBoost® equipped with automatic start/stop technology. This particular technology is designed to cease operation whenever the truck is placed in 4WD or is trailering. Additionally, there will be a new 3.5L Ti-VCT V-6, 3.5L EcoBoost®, and a 5.0L Ti-VCT V8. Tough engines to meet the truck owner’s individual needs.

Overall, the new 2015 Ford F-150 has been tougher to work (and play) harder. Listening to the demands and needs of their customers, Ford has worked to design a truck customers want. Smarter technology, tougher frame, and more efficient engines are only part of more than 100 patents Ford has associated with the redesign.
