plenty of room for 8 in 2015 Ford Expedition

One challenge we face as a family of 8?

Having enough room for us all to ride together in ONE vehicle when we go places.

But, thanks to the 2015 Ford Expedition, we were able to travel as one family… at least for the week we had it.

Note: Always wear your seat belts. My (future) SIL had just gotten into the vehicle and waited for my daughter to fasten. I took the picture while we were stopped. It was simply the best one I had. Our motto comes from Dora: “Seat belts so we can be safe.”

I know. It may be a “little thing” to some, but it means a great deal to me for us all to be able to ride together. Short drives through the city are one thing, but we love to take road trips.

Whether traveling a couple of states over or simply through Texas for hours, being able to ride in one vehicle further enhances the bonding time.

And, yes, we actually enjoy the road trip environment. The kids do really well traveling and we simply enjoy the ride.

Games, stories, music, and more make the ride easier.

Plus, when you have an amazing utility vehicle like the 2015 Ford Expedition, you all get a comfortable seat and plenty of room to relax and enjoy.

Inside the Expedition, you will find three rows of seats and up to 108.3 cubic feet of cargo space. For us, that means less luggage under our feet.

And, yes, we have traveled like that before. Everyone sacrifices feet space so that we can fit everything into one vehicle so we can ride together.

More cargo space and roomier seats simply open that up to more legroom and personal space for everyone.

Oh, and if we want even more space, there is a longer wheelbase available that offers the best-in-class maximum cargo space of 130.8 cubic feet. Yes, please!

Don’t think the bigger truck will mean less horsepower. In fact, the 2015 Expedition will have the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 (the only engine offered in Expedition in North America by the way) which will bring increased torque and horsepower.

The driver does have the ability to use a shift-mounted rocker switch for manual mode with the six-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission feature.

This further maximizes the performance and control of the truck as we get down the road to our destination.

Going back to my family, not only do we like our space… we also like our technology.

I often check out the gadgets and buttons as soon as I step into a vehicle. The kids are pretty much the same way.

The Ford Expedition has technology upgrades that are in full demand nowadays.

These tech features available include:

  • SYNC® with MyFord Touch®
  • Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with cross-traffic alert
  • 10-speaker, 700-watt Audio System from Sony®
  • Rearview Camera
  • Forward and Reverse sensing systems
  • Intelligent Access with push-button start
  • Seven-color, interior ambient LED lighting

Not only are these ways to enhance your riding experience, but they can also work to help you be safer on the road.

That Blind Spot Information System is my best friend on the highways here in Texas!

Perhaps most important for any family, are the standard safety features. These include AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™, Safety Canopy® side-curtain airbags, and SOS Post-Crash Alert System™.

As well as three-point safety belts at ALL seating positions, front seat-mounted side airbags, side-intrusion door beams, and LATCH system for car seats.

But this isn’t even all of them. Ford makes sure their passengers are safe and secure in their vehicles. Perfect for short rides across town or long road trips.

2015 Ford Expedition Platinum

Finally, but not least at all, is the newest trim level available in the 2015 Ford Expedition: Platinum.

If you want a nice truck with a side of luxury this is the way to go!

The Platinum series is tailored with lush leather seating described by designers as buttery–soft and smooth to the touch. It looks nice. Feels incredible. And is a comfortable ride.

You can also get the Expedition in XLT, Limited, and King Ranch® trim levels. Take your pick!
